Laboratory Technician - Actively hiring
Candidates are encouraged to apply who:
Have a B.S. (or similar) in Bioengineering (BE), Biomedical Engineering (BME), Chemical and Biological Engineering (CBE), Materials Science and Engineering (MSE), Mechanical Engineering (ME), General Engineering, Biology, Chemistry, Biophysics, or a related field.
Must be interested in learning new laboratory skills that span multiple disciplines and working in a collaborative laboratory setting.
Must have excellent communication skills (written and verbal), pay attention to detail, and thoroughly complete tasks.
While no prior experience is required, the ideal candidate may have experience in any of the following laboratory techniques: Cell culture, light microscopy, NMR, TEM, LC-MS/MS, animal models, RNA-sequencing, and histology. Proper training and guidance will be provided in all areas.

Postdoctoral Researcher - Hiring soon
Candidates are encouraged to apply who:
Have a PhD in Bioengineering (BE), Biomedical Engineering (BME), Chemical and Biological/Biomolecular Engineering (CBE), Mechanical Engineering (ME), Cell and Molecular Biology, Cell Biology and Physiology, or a related field.
Have experience in any of the following: Animal models, tissue-on-a-chip, spatial omics, single cell sequencing, orthopaedic research, vascular research, tissue culture, light microscopy, biomaterials/material synthesis, NMR, LC-MS/MS, etc.
Are interested in merging PhD expertise with ongoing work, learning new laboratory skills, mentoring trainees, working with medical doctors and surgeons, and collaborations.
Are interested in applying to relevant fellowships and funding opportunities to support career success. External fellowship support is not required to begin work.

Are currently enrolled in a bachelors program such as Biology, Chemistry, Biophysics, Engineering, or similar.
Are broadly interested in musculoskeletal/orthopaedic and/or vascular research.
Are interested in learning new laboratory skills, reading literature, and contributing to ongoing projects in the lab.
Can clearly communicate their availability in terms of class schedule and extracurriculars.

Physician Scientist
The Department of Orthopaedic Surgery at Wake Forest University School of Medicine offers a two-year postdoctoral Orthopaedic Physician Scientist Training Program that provides mentored and protected basic science research time before a clinical residency.
Participants will have the opportunity to:
Have focused research time with no call obligations.
Publish and present findings at research meetings.
Participate in educational conferences.
Receive mentoring from faculty, and provide mentoring to other residents and students.
Pursue a Doctor of Philosophy degree in the Wake Forest Graduate School of Arts and Sciences
